Dr. Narayan Krishnamurthy is a pulmonary and sleep medicine specialist, board certified in Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine by American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Sleep Medicine. After graduation from Bangalore Medical College in India,
He obtained higher training and fellowship of Royal College of Physicians in UK. He further underwent advanced training in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma City during Residency and Fellowship training.
He specializes in Sleep disorders such as Sleep apnea, Insomnia, Restless leg syndrome, Narcolepsy, Shift work disorders, Jet lag etc. and Breathing disorders such as COPD, Asthma, Lung Cancer. He has vast experience in Pulmonary, Sleep and Critical Care medicine dealing with complex multiple medical conditions for over 35 years and has served the Tuscaloosa and west Alabama area for nearly 25 years. He has special interest in the management of all forms of Sleep apnea, chronic lung diseases, Pulmonary function testing, Lung Cancer screening, Cigarette Smoking Cessation, Cognitive behavior therapy for Insomnia and CPAP compliance. He has conducted seminars and given several lectures and talks as a well recognized speaker. His interests include teaching and is the medical director of Respiratory therapy program at Shelton state. He holds a Clinical Associate Professor position with University of Alabama, college of Medicine. He is the medical director of sleep center since its inception at DCH Regional Medical Center.
With a view to offering a wider variety of out-patient services, he founded the Comprehensive sleep and breathing disorders center in July 2012. His special interests include Sleep Apnea, compliance with CPAP, treatment of Insomnia with cognitive therapy, COPD, Asthma, Smoking cessation and Lung cancer screening. His philosophy is to deliver fast, efficient care in a comfortable setting with a friendly and professional approach. He has an excellent, compassionate support staff, who are highly trained in all aspects of pulmonary and sleep medicine to provide comprehensive care to patients with all forms of Sleep and Breathing Disorders.
Dr Krishnamurthy on invitation by the Division of Pulmonary, Critical care and Sleep Medicine, appointed as a Faculty member under the department of Medicine at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB medicine) at the level of Associate Professor. He assumes this part time role in addition to current full time commitments in Tuscaloosa in the fall of 2015.

A fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Louisville, Louisville, Kentucky. She specializes in respiratory disorders such as COPD,asthma, chronic cough and other chronic lung diseases. She has served the Tuscaloosa area for over 20 years with her experience in Pulmonary and Critical care medicine. Dr. Lipscomb’s special interests include COPD, asthma, smoking cessation and lung cancer screening. Her goal is to provide comprehensive outpatient care with a strategy to limit hospitalizations and improve quality of life in patients with breathing disorders.
Caitlin Foley is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from The University of Alabama in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduating, Caitlin worked as an RN at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, and then at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. She received her Master of Science in Nursing in 2017 from The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Caitlin practiced for two years at a pain management clinic in Birmingham. Caitlin is passionate about providing quality care to every patient she serves
